The winner of the 2017 edition of the Lagos Women Run, Adeseun Olamide, has declared that hard work and determination gave her the victory in the Run.

“After losing to Olunde Fadekemi last year, I went back to my coach to give him the breakdown of how the race went and how I narrowly lost to Fadekemi, so that I will not make the same mistake.
“The special training for the 2017 Lagos Women Run under the supervision of my coach started as early as January this year. We took the training for this Run one step after the other. I am happy that my strategies to defeat Fadekemi Olunde worked as planned and I am happy to be the new champion of the Lagos Women Run. It took me one year to plan for this Run.”
Olamide stated that the N500,000 winner’s prize would go a long way in changing my life for the better. “Aside from using part of the money to start a small business, the money will also help me to begin real preparations ahead of bigger races like the 2018 Lagos City Marathon.”
“I am grateful to the organisers of the Lagos Women Run for changing my life for the better,” Adeseun Olamide said.
